Community Grants Program

 

Heta Incorporated (Heta) aims to increase the valued participation of people with a disability and people who are disengaged from their communities. The objectives of Heta are:


- To ensure the rights of individuals are upheld.

- To provide relevant support to facilitate individual goal achievement.

- To form networks to increase opportunities for participation in the community.

- To educate and empower communities to be inclusive.


As a way to meet these objectives, Heta is launching a Community Grants Program on Monday 25 October 2010.



WHO IS ELIGIBLE?


The Grants are only available to individuals for personal use. Only individuals who are either disadvantaged, disengaged, or have a disability are eligible to apply. The applicant must be between 17 and 65 years of age. Advocates may apply on behalf of individuals who have a disability that is restrictive to apply in their own right.



WHAT CAN I APPLY FOR?


The grant supports a community member undertaking a project/resourcing opportunity that assists in their growth, or provides a benefit to the community.


The applicant must show that the Grant will be used for a purpose that supports Heta's Community Grants Program mission and objectives, and that they have limited capacity to obtain the necessary funds through other means.



HOW MUCH CAN I GET?


A monetary grant of up to a maximum of $2,000 will be available to a successful applicant. The grant must be used within 12 months from the date it was granted.



HOW TO APPLY?


1. Read and understand the Community Grants Program Guidelines - Program Guidelines will be posted on this website very soon!


2. Download application form - Download a copy of Community Grants Program Application Form from the website. All areas of the application form should be completed including two referees. Only typed applications will be accepted. Application Form will be posted on this website very soon!


3. Include details of referees - You must include the names of two referees. Referees may be contacted to provide additional supporting evidence on your ability to implement the proposed project.


4. Submit application - Applications process opens on Monday 25 October 2010. Your application should be received by HETA by no later then 5pm, on Friday 26 November 2010. Applications should be typed using the appropriate application form, and emailed to opure@heta.com.au

Late, incomplete applications or applications that do not comply with set guidelines will not be accepted.
